| Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif has order the Excise Department to immediately open the PTI office.
The Punjab Excise Department has sealed PTI Lahore office due to nonpayment of taxes but it has been reopened in few minutes on Punjab Chief Minister’s order.
According to the Excise DG, the office was sealed on nonpayment of Rs 3.5 lac property tax.
The Punjab Government clarified the action against PTI was taken by the Excise Department on its own without asking from the political leadership. The department was directed to solve the issue through negotiations with the PTI officials.

| I dont think any bad intention in this . I think this news is correct and PTI did not pay tax despite reminders. So pay and tax and get back office, this is rule of law.
BTW, CM Punjab ask authorities to open office and give more time to PTI.

| dont make it about offices. lets just all keep pitching in. just the request that omer cheema may please be kept away from tv. not everyone makes a good media handler. its a specialist task. and omer cheema doesnt fit the bill. neither by his qualifications, or experience, or performance.
Although I hope he is a sincere worker. and it would suit him more if he is given the task which is better suited to his strengths.
btw, we have a few really good faces for tv who are now beginning to show. this change is an encouraging sign.

| Mr. Saad Karim, I have been following your comments since long and i very strongly doubt your loyalty to PTI and IK. Bhai, stop pursuing this propaganda things, InshaAllah PTI will win inspite of efforts like these of yours.
Mir Jaafars and Mir Saadiqs surely have "Geedars sow saal life", but we the true tigers of IK and PTI will make sure that PMLN and PPP will have no more political life (pretty soon my dear saad)

| Two words for PTI "POLITICAL VICTIMIZATION". Stay strong this shows that we are winning. Just stay resolute. And also I have two words for entire PML(N) leadership........... "GROW UP".
PML(N) is still living in the 1970s & 80s. SHAME ON THEM. These Morons are never going to rise above their cheap tactics. God Bless PTI. | | Long Live Chairman Khan! Long Live Pakistan!

| | Condemn the degrading act. The tax payment due date was till tomorrow so it should not have been sealed today irrespective of the debate on the nature of the property and authenticity of the tax levied. | | Kind Regards, Omer Zaheer Meer ACCA (UK), BSc (Hons) (UK), CAT (UK), Adv. Excise and Taxation Department officials say office was closed due to non-payment of taxes.
Excise and Taxation Department officials said the office was closed due to non-payment of taxes. PHOTO: INP/ FILE LAHORE: The Secretariat
of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) located at Jail Road in Lahore opened
after being temporarily sealed earlier on Tuesday morning due to
non-payment of taxes. It was reopened after directives were issued by Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif. The director of the Excise and Taxation Department said the office
was sealed due to non-payment of property tax amounting to Rs3,50,128. There were a few protestors outside the secretariat who did not let
the Excise and Taxation officials unseal the PTI office for some time. The CM secretariat said that the matter needs to be resolved on the table. PTI’s Lahore President Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed said that the tax has
been paid and also produced the previous year’s receipt that cited tax
payment in the past. He added that the due date for the payment was November 23 and condemned the sealing of the party’s office a day before. Rasheed said that the Excise and Taxation Department had imposed
commercial tax rather than domestic tax, although the secretariat
operates in a house donated by a PTI supporter. PTI spokesperson Umer Cheema alleged that the move was Punjab
government’s political tactic and that it was meant to “harass” the
party. PTI officials along with Excise and Taxation Department will determine the cause of the discrepancy. The development comes amid the formation of a cell by the PTI that
aims at disclosing the true assets of corrupt political parties as part
of its anti-corruption drive. PTI Chairman Imran Khan reiterated that President Asif Ali Zardari
and the Sharif brothers will never reveal their true assets as they
would then be “compelled to face charges of corruption on declaration.” |
