| | What is PTI doing in this constituency to promote itself and gather support.
This is a PML-N stronghold and there is a possibility that Nawaz Sharif's wife may contest elections from this constituency.
Is it confirmed that Mian Azhar will be our candidate for National Assembly? and who are the candidates short-listed for Provincial seat?

In Elections 2002, for NA-118, Hafiz Salman Butt of PML-N defeated Mian Azhar of PML-Q and for PP-137, PPP candidate defeated PML-N candidate.
In elections 2008, Malik Riaz of PML-N defeated Asif Hashmi of PPP and Mian Azhar was at third place.
Now about PTI, Engineer Yasir Gillani (http://www.facebook.com/engr.yasir.gillani) is putting his efforts in Shahdara since 1998 and with his 14 years of efforts, PTI is now has a very strong hold in the area (alhamdolilla), and inshallah he will be candidate from PTI

| I think, the situation in past was different.
i do not see even one candidate of PTI including Chairman Imran Khan who got more than 20000 votes in Lahore. if I am wrong, please correct me.
but mian Azhar got more than 20000 votes in past. Why are you thinking that he can not win.
Now PTI is very popular and Imran Khan and other who got less than 20000 votes in lahore , will win inshaallah. And Mian azhar got more than 20000 votes in Past 2002 election. So his chances of victory are even bright.
And I will be happy if there is some one else who is better than Mian Azhar, but there is no candidate of PTI till now who got more than 20000 votes in lahore ever in election except Mian azhar.
He was in Q league but Q league did not have party vote.He had his own votes.And Q leaque was trying to defeat him because Chaudhry brothers were against him and it was a conspiracy against him and he was defeated with the difference of 4000 votes.
Now if some heavy weight has joined us in 118 lahore , tell me please, if there is some one. it is ok. Otherwise, Mian azhar is the best person in 118.
and it is he who joined PTI before 30th october. | |

| well i am from Lahore , not from the constituency which is being discussed here but everybody knows that Engr. Yasir Gilani is a very young , hard working worker of PTI..he is working in the area from last 3 years or so...
i think best would be to accommodate all educated, young, dynamic and energetic workers ..may be Engr Yasir can contest from PA seat or if he wants to contest from NA seat them Mian Azhar has to be readjusted to some other seat | | | |

I think when tickets will be awarded by the parliamentary board, Mian Azhar, keeping in view his seniority and personal influnece, will be awarded ticket for NA-118 and Eng.Yasir Gilani will be awarded ticket for PA seat.This is how the things how when you have two good candidates at a place, albeit one senior and other junior. | | | |

I agree with the seniority and personal influence of Mian Azhar, but we should not forget that he didn't win even when he has the support of almost all the local Nazims and General Councillors; I'm talking about Elections 2002. At that time he had the maximum winning chances. But he failed. Here is the snapshot of past two elections:
Results Elections 2008:
1. Malik Riaz (55900 votes)
2. Syed Asif Hashmi (24712)
3. Mian Azhar (11075 votes)
Results Elections 2002:
1. Hafiz Salman But (25484 votes)
2. Mian Azhar (21641 votes)
So, we can better understand how winning Mian Azhar is...
Now, talking about Engineer Yasir Gillani, he is working in the area since 1998 and how has build a strong hold. He has a team of more than 500 designated workers.
About contesting elections, I talked to him few days back, and he said, he will contest what party decides for him, he is willing to work where party assigns him.
But in my personal opinion, he should be the candidate for NA seat. | |

Well it is good to know that we have candidates in the area.
However in terms of who should be a candidate for NA or PA seat, let me repeat what the Chairman has said that it does not matter how many years you have put in to promote the party, if you do not fit the job description then you will not get the job simply because you have been with the party from the start. Everything is decided on merit.
Although I do hope that Gillani is up to the task of being a PA and/or a NA candidate. Do you have a brief summary of how he intends to improve his constituency? | | | |

May be you are right.
But at site, we should be fair with all our leaders.
but the way you mentioned about Yasir gilani, it is clear that you are promoting him and in this way, there will start a controversy.
tomorrow, the son of Mian Azhar will be promoting Mian Azhar in this forum and there will be a conflict here between the supporters of Mian Azhar and Yasir gilani.
I do not know any of them,
I love Imran Khan. thats why I love PTI.
I will support every one and any one who is better for PTI.
I think, you should mention the plus points of Yasir Gilani, you should tell us the reasons and facts about his popularity, public support, ground work, influence in area, his personal skills and every good thing about him. I will be happy to read but

you should not degrade MIan Azhar. You should not prove him as looser. In this way, tomorrow some close person of Mian azhar will be trying to prove Mian Azhar as winner and some one else as a loser.
You mentioned two results of Mian Azhar and both from Q leaque.When he lost the election as Q- league never supported him sincerely.
But, my friend, try to understand that when in 97 Nawaz sharif had a large number of electable and many leaders were available to contest in lahore, but he again gave ticket to Mian Azhar and Mian Azhar got nearly 60000 votes and won by the lead of 50000 votes.
That time the wave was in favor of Mian Nawaz Sharif and now the same wave of popularity is with Imran Khan. Now the situation of imran khan will be like nawaz in 97 for.
Why did you not mentioned that excellent result of MIan Azhar, when he won in lahore by the lead of 50000 votes.
I think, you should be fair with Mian Azhar also.
I do not have any thing against Yasir Gilani.
May be he is better than Mian Azhar.
I told you, may be you are right.
But we should not defame any of our leader.
That is my point.
Let Parliamentary board decide.
You are promoting Yasir gilani' face book.
You are welcome, he is welcome.
But please you should not prove Mian Azhar as loser.
In this way, someone from his supporters will come and try to prove Yasir Gilani as looser and this will not help the part in any way.

This is my concern,
he mentioned two results and proved that he is loser.
In this way, we should not promote some one by degrading and defaming others.
I think, it is not good for Party.
We should be fair.

Yes he was MNA from NA-92, Shahdara (current NA-118) on the behalf of PML-N with a promising majority, in 1997. But fairly speaking, it was 15 years back and if you guys would look at the past 10 years of his politics that is simply a failure.
Yes, he has his own influence not even in NA-118 but in other areas of Punjab as well, and has favors of majority of Arrain bradari. But he was unable to reach assembly at least in not in the past two elections. Specially, in elections 2008, where he got only 11 thousand votes. The politician of his kind and influence should get much more than this. But he failed.
But IK has chosen him, of course we will respect IK's decision, but we should not close our eyes, we should keep all things upfront and make a fair decision.
Personally speaking, this time Mian Azhar should not try from NA-118, he should try his own area i.e. Sant Nagar side. I guess he has better chances of winning from there. | |

| Moreover, about Engineer Yasir Gillani's efforts in Shahdara.
He started his life with PTI in 1998 and joined as a worker. Since then he's putting his efforts and now working as Additional Secretary General, Lahore as well as PCO of PP-137.
He has build his team over there in PP-137. 99% of members from his team are ideological and exactly according to the party ideology. Most of them are working hard. I've know him since past 3 years almost and I've never seen any body putting this much efforts for the betterment of Pakistan. Not even supporters of PTI but also workers from other parties do appreciate him for his efforts and are quite hopeful for his win.
And inshallah he'll Win. and also ready to contest either from PA or NA seat, what so ever party decides for him. | |

| | I am from NA-131 Muridke but i have many relatives and friend in NA-118.they said that it was their mistake to vote N-Leage.Now they vote PTI.Mian Azher increase it vote considerably in recent time and with the help of PTI He can snatch this seat for PTI.We should avoide differce amoung us and only work for winning the election not for personel gain.we appreciate Yasir Gilani Sb work in the area but all my friend and relatives say that Mian Azher is better candidate and our main focus is to win the election.
