Hi,

I want to make a suggestion to Imran Khan bhai. I have noticed that PTI lacks a team. PTI seems to be highly correlated to Imran Khan's name. Imagine how strong the party would be if it had some other renowned personalities from other professions it would be much more popular party.

For example if the party had the following as party members..

a) Prominent lawyers like Aetezaz Aehsan or deposed chief justice.
b) Retired renowned bureaucrats (Maliha Lodhi).
c) People related to news (Dr Shahid Masood).
d) People from sports (Ramiz Raja etc).
e) People from music art and entertainment (e.g. Abrar uld Haq)
f) Renowned professionals from various industries e.g. IT, Medical, Engineering.
g) Ex military service people who want to empower people (not the lot who want to mute the civilians).
h) A few young people from universities like LUMS.
i) Businessmen Shaukat Aziz kind.
f) A few educated respected religious people (like late Dr Murtaza)
g) NGO like Mukhtar Mai.

I think the party could rise much faster if Imran bhai capitalizes on the influence of other known personalities, rather than just relying on his own popularity. Moreover it would make the party multi dimensional and may gather a powerful momentum with even a small effective team. Sort of suggesting to start preparing a team for the cabinet.

regards,
asif

I am not suggesting for the exact people, but the kind of people. The ones who have some name or reputation.

For example would'nt Mukhtar mai be way more effective (who is currently running a NGO) in raising concerns of women in the parliament, as compared to the Misses currently sitting in the parliaments, who has been abused by the lords. There is a synergy between the judge and the mai, they both have been abused by the system.

I am sure there are other great economists and professionals working here in USA. Shaukat Aziz was stuck with Mush company but i think he is a high caliber professional, he was recently being considered for citigroup CEO slot here in US.

Singers and people from media are also respectable people and are a part of society. Moreover they hold influence on public. Arnold Schwarzenegger was a movie star and now he is a governor. Imran Khan got his fame from cricket (who is playing cricket for PML?)

My suggestion is for thinking out of the box. How PTI is going, I do not think it will become a huge party very soon. It may at tops match the mullah parties. Imran bhai needs diverse and broad representation

You are absolutely right. The names doesnt means that exactly these people may be included in the PTI but the kind of people.

Imran khan please think out of the Box. You are saying people of Pakistan to change but its time for change in your own party. I think u never had elections in your party for Provincial or District Level leadership. In the past it was an excuse because we dont have people among whom u can have elections but now there are many people who are active members of PTI and cabinet's members. So first u have to start elections from your own party and make your Provincial & District Level leadership the elected one, not the selected one.

Are you kidding. Most of these people don't have the character to be in PTI - when you say Shaukat Aziz o kind of Shaukat Aziz plzzzzzzzzzzzz we don't want anyone like Shaukat Aziz in PTI. and the same goes to Abrar, Ramiz, etc. Imran or PTI does not have to go and beg anyone to join PTI - Yeah if Aitzaz, CJ Iftikhar Ch. are willing to join the party then they should be welcome whole heartedly.
Long Live PTI
p.s : its a strugle PTI is doing and things don't happen overnight

Absolutely agree. There should be backup leadership who can carry out. Currently the party seems like a one man show (ironically like Mush running Pakistan as one man show). Imran Khan will always be the guiding figure in the party, but there should be room for moving up in the party if it were to attract good reputation people. This would set PTI apart from other name brands like PML and PPP.

I said Shaukat Aziz kind of people (not Shaukat Aziz hiself) because of his professional caliber, not to be confused with his political caliber.

My dear friend, Shaukat Aziz does not have any caliber. He knows how to kiss some one's A.......... Malih Lodhi is a bad news. She has served
every ruler. She may be smart but without a character and personal integrity. Don't think every American CEO is intelligent. Most CEOS get poistion in America not because they are smart but how they screw
the common worker in the comanys so that they can show a big profit
for the shareholders.

I am sure there are several honorable and intelligent people in every field who will be willing to serve their country if called upon.

I can understand what you mean by Shaukat Aziz, when you suggested his name. Yes he is a competant man. If there is one man Musharraf needed, it was Shaukat Aziz. You need a man that will build some sort of a Foundation for the Economy. He was a good Finance Minister.

But he surrounded himself with the wrong group of people such as the Chaudhries of Gujrat, who ended up betraying him in the end, in the recent weeks. These Chaudhries remind you of a past Punjab Assembly, when a certain majority was with one person, and then went the exact opposite, when the other person took power.

The problem was that he started to become President Musharraf's Personal Secretary. He would always side with the President like a VP does. He should have stood up to President Musharraf on certain key issues and stop taking orders from President Musharraf.

He should have been like former Prime Minister Junejo, who stood up to General Haq, despite the risk of loosing his position. These generals do not like taking orders, they like giving them.

These PML-Q people will become part of PML-N as soon as President Musharraf is gone. Do not think that change has happened with the departure of Gen Musharraf. True change will only happen when new leadership emerges. BB, NS, Asif Zardari are not the answer.

Let me also add that the Turkish Leader, Mr. Gul, went to Pakistan to portray a positive image of Pakistan within Turkey. However, his efforts failed because the Opposition Leaders was constantly knocking on the government and blaming everything on the government.

Mr. Gul, the Turkish Leader, said that the only opposition leader he was impressed with was Imran Khan. He said that Imran Khan was very constructive and not blaming the government, but talking realistically, reasonably and fairly, etc. The rest of the political leaders, BB, NS just attacked the government for every problem. They are power hungry and they will do anything to get to power. I hope that their participation in the so called elections revealed their true faces.

I can not wait to see a New Change in Pakistan. We need the PTI for the betterment of Pakistan.

Asalamualikum Imran bahi
Well I have deep respect about all of the members who give you suggestions. this shows people really think about the better future of Pakistan and they think that you can do something. I appreciate that. I from my side can not give you any suggestion and do not have any experienceto do so, but i can tell you something that in Pakistan we do have potencial and unders your leadership our youth can do alot if they are given a platform. Which you have already provided. They can give logical reasons to prove what ever you did or doing is absolutely right. A strong fish always goes apposite to the current wave. Those who are swept by these waves they are weak. Wheather they call it political vision or need of time.
Thanks

well i respect all points of view presented here regarding bidchase's suggestion.I would like to have my own say in this regard.Persons are not imposed on a party as this is unsustainable.Rather people work for party with sincerity and devotion get the attention of party and people.Leaders are like red bricks who ve to go through brick klin. You all guys ve potential to become leader of the party.Do something solid for party and people and you will earn a good name.I hope you guys got my point.PTI is not a corporate organisation to be run by technocrates.Let the people decide who will be their leader.

I was in pakistan in recent weeks and talked to alot of people about PTI.....
everyone like PTI but they could not vote for PTi cuz PTI has no faces besides IK...
People dont know anyone besides IK from PTI....
I think this is a very serioes issue which should be tackled...be it by bringing in some prominent people.

Bidchase has a very solid idea. Most people misunderstood him. He has clearly said that the names are just examples and that we should go for high calibre people in different fields. There is no harm in that, but rather some very good perspectives.
It still a big task for PTI to put forward other big names in the party. We should have spokesman for every major issue as "law", Education", "Foreign policy" etc. These people should also be in the limelight regularly along with IK so that they can become known faces. When that goal is achieved PTI could introduce further people and so on. Only this way people will have a real choice in elections (free and fair elections and not the coming selections).

Its a very good idea. Say, the big names are not available somehow. No problem, the first & formost thing is to show the presence of PTI in all major cities by holding the rallies on regular basis & apreading in all forum, net, print & electronic media. Highlight the local leadership with speeches, so that they can express themselves & make an impression on the audience.

Thanks & best of luck

It is a good idea to groom people for leadership, however it will take years before people currently in PTI to earn the recognition of public. If PTI is to get broad support it should quickly get some super stars on board.

Political parties are like companies. Companies with good teams and good human resource beat the crowd.
Companies like google microsoft just dont rely on there own talent. They aggressively hire the best in the industry , they get the top notch, leaders of there domains. If they were to rely only on there own talent it would take them centuries to reach the status they have achieved in few years.

Its a moment in history where PTI has a chance to rise quickly, because people of Pakistan are sick of the status quo parties.

Assalam-o-alaikum Friends,

First of all, I would like to suggest to every member that it would be better not to "over-react," even to the most ridiculous suggestion, rather pleasantly record your objection with arguments and where possible give alternate suggestion.

Now coming to the suggested list; lets make some changes to make it a bit more realistic, possible (possibility of them joining PTI) and acceptable to all, or to the majority.

a) Prominent lawyers:
Justice (r) Wajihuddin Ahmed
Justice (r) Fakhruddin G Ibrahim
Chief Justice (r) Saeeduzzaman Siddiqi
Chief Justice (r) Sajjad Ali Shah
+ any of the deposed judges.

b) Retired renowned bureaucrats:
Mr. Roedad Khan, etc.

c) People related to journalism:
Mr. Talat Hussain, etc

d) People from sports:
Mr. Jahangir Khan
Mr. Waseem Akram
Mr. Jansher Khan etc

e) People from arts and entertainment:
Mr. Salman Ahmed etc

f) Renowned professionals from various industries e.g. IT, Medical, Engineering:
???

g) Ex military service people:
Lt. Gen (r). Talat Masood, etc

h) A few people from universities/educationists:
Dr. Manzoor Ahmed (former vice chancellor Karachi University)
Dr. Pirzada Qasim (former vice chancellor Karachi University)
Dr. Pervez Hoodbhoy etc etc.

i) Prominent Businessmen:
???

f) Educated religious people:
Dr Javed Ghamidi
Dr. Khalid Zaheer etc

g) NGO:
???

h) Other prominent personalities:
Ahmad Faraz, etc etc

Not only request/urge them to join PTI, but to give them the task to formulate policies and plans in their particular field.
