"Learn from your mistakes, dont repeat them" .Every body commits mistakes in life,But one should have the courage to analyse them himself ,learn from them, and do away with the weakness that incur that gullability.
The above words are oft repeated by imran khan.He is one man who is not shy to accept his past mistakes and that is what makes him so special.
I was wondering why Imran bhai is not correcting the path that is constantly undermining the progress and development of the party.
Even after eleven years we are yet to establish a credible internal system of checks and balances. The party offices are yet to be democratised and some unelected influentials in the party excercise alot of power with out having any constitutional ground.
Some may say. That the onus lies on the whole party ,PTI is a new party thus it will take time. Some may also argue that money is the real issue with out which the mentioned problem could not be confronted up front.
In my view the real problem is the lack of intent.previous episod(where party leader resigned and PTI faced some loses due to certain disicions) has some how weaken that intent of Imran bhai.He is a bit shy now to try to solve the intra party matters exclusively.hence the conventional politicians inside the party benefit continuesly.
I think the path needs to be corrected as the 'time of PTI' is on the horizen.its better to put our house in the order before"the moment" comes.Otherwise it might be too late too little.

I agree to some points here. I think, we should focus more towards organization of party, for example by having regular elections.
We need to establish PTI on long terms basis. By looking at Pakistan political situation and awareness, it might take a bit longer to educate people, what PTI motives are.
I had been taking views from different friends and relatives, there are a lot of support for PTI but most of them are educated people which is a good sign. It will take time, we just need to stick with it.

i think that the success of a party lies in its leadership fortunately we have a charismatic leadership it will take time to become a party like ppp(in terms of popularity not ideology)but we need to hang in there inshallah allah will help us

In my opnion the biggest factor that might question our parties future popularity is that We dont have many good leaders like IK in the party. we rely on IK to do everything for the party. why does IK himself go everywhere for PTI. He needs to start sending his intelligent members who he himself think got the potenial to increase the popularity of the party, so people know them too not only him. For example like Capital Talk. Always Imran bhai used to come, y he never sent someone smart from his party to represent.

I just joined PTI! I live in toronto, and I believe that Imran Khan, InshAllah will bring change to our current situation soon enough. We need to strengthen our party, Obviously it'll take time but InshAllah the day will come when We'll See our message being spread throughout the world.

Please correct me if I am wrong. PTI is 10 year old and should have grass root
mobilization and a strong leadership structure. Imran is a good man and
honest leader but it is not getting us any where.

A nation-wide organization is very hard task. This is the test of Imran how he would achieve it. It is a challenge, also his training as he will have to do it whenever he would become Prime Minister. The experience here will become a valuable assets to him.
The thing is you need workers almost everywhere which PTI didn't have in the past. Moreover, establishment role has also been very harmful. After the 1997 election, a significant number of people left PTI. PTI was in much better position in 2002, but due to Imran's conflict with Musharraf, establishment crack down on PTI. In the end, PTI left with just 91 candidates for the election. A large part of Imran;s effort, I think, went in vain. He need to again rebuild the party from scratch. However, there are some people who remain in PTI. These are the real assets of PTI.
It is in the last one or two years PTI began to gain momentum in almost all parts of the country. Three of my close friends who used to be in Imran's hate club. They used to regard him as a zionist agent. One is in UK and he has officially joined PTI. For the other friends, Imran is now only hope. Now everyone, except MQM supporters, believe Imran to be the most sincere politician, and the only politician which is credible.
The launching pad is now set for the PTI to organize itself as PPP or JI is. PTI has now fresh and dedicated blood. One of my friend who is a student at my university is a PPP voter, but he donate $100 to PTI. I am quite optimist about PTI future. Yes, there are some issues which host has mentioned in the insaf blog. But these are part of any democratic forum and can be resolved.

The problem with one man parties is that they can never grow because all eyes are centered on one individual. All other parties in Pakistan have many faces...yet even after 11 years, PTI only has one face. This shows PTI's lack of political wisdom.
PTI should learn its lesson now. They must do the following without delay:
1. Never again boycott elections, no matter if they are rigged or under PCO.
2. IK should take a back seat and let others emerge as PTI leaders. PTI members should not put undue pressure on IK by looking towards him for everything.
3. Leadership should be earned through elections within the party and not through appointments from IK. All leadership posts (including chairman) should have a maximum period, say 10 years or two terms.
4. Encourage dissent within the party so that a real consensus can develop on all issues.

This is Imran's BIG Mistake .I think he could have taken around 20 seats with PML-N seat adjustment. then he could raise his voice in the parliament .that was the Golden time and he lost it ......In future we dont know
|19/02/2008 9:48 AM||
It may or may not be a good political decision only time will decide but it is true that IK is more of a leader than just a politician, coz leaders fight for next generations & politicians fight for next elections.
