I think jamaat e islami is one few organizations whose leadership is not corrupt. They boycotted the 2007 elections like, PTI because, Elections were being held under PCO. lets discuss pro's and cons of forming an alliance with jamaat e islami and terms of alliance. ModEdit: Please use proper title which do not mislead the reader. Thanks. Title has been edited.

Terms of alliance

1 In my point of view term of alliance should be corruption free government. independent Pakistan foreign policy. drive against corrupt politicians
secular federal government
2 jamat can dominate its moderate religious agenda only in kp and in rest of provinces we want Alama iqbals vision.
3 forein policy will be subject totally managed by PTI leadership.

Pros of alliance with jamat.

1 V robust street power and party organization
2 large vote in Karachi well organized party structure and motivated party workers to face mqm and stop their Rigging.
3 jamat worker plus their vote bank and pti vote means. Pti and jamat together can easily take 8 NA seats and around 20 SA seat. same benefits for hyderbad city aswel.
4 jamat has huge vote bank in lower middle class urdu speaking people in karachi and hyderabad.
5 pti and jamat together can easily form government in KP, may be punjab aswell and federal governent

Cons of allaince with jamat.

1 International fear, reservation and anxiety of jamat coming in power.
2 fear of islamization by moderate voters of PTI. especially educated women of Pakistan
3 unrealistic foreign policy of anti america and west followed by jamat will be difficult to sustain in real world

their character in MMA govt was hypocritical, always act as Military lapdog, and openly support violence via Jamiyat and support Taliban rule.... their vision is narrow, unlike Islamic brotherhood of Egypt... probably its best to stay away from such dubious unpopular parties...

I think that we may understand the following scenarios:

Scenario 1: No alliance/seat adjustments of PTI with JI. In this case Munawwar Hasan sahab cannot resist the internal pressure coming from Qazi Hussain and other JI members to form MMA. Keep in mind that as per polls PTI is most popular in KPK, the province where even non-influencial can win, the province which adopt changes quickly as KPK experience provincial government of JUI (Mufti Mehmood), PPP, PML-N, MMA and now ANP. Now,if MMA created, it will hurt PTI in KPK and big loss.

Scenario 2: Alliance/seat adjustment with JI. it will avoid the creation of MMA and hence, beneficial for PTI in KPK and Karachi.

Advantages:

1. Very well organized party having trained workers in each constituency. It will help us in elections campaign and polling day.
2. Avoid the creation of MMA.
3. Overall Pakistan and KPK in particular is still conservation. JUI and PML-N will start propaganda near election about "Jewish Lobby" and "Jamima", the alliance with JI will help to dilute this propaganda and people will trust that PTI is not anti-islamic party.
4. JI has atleast 10,000 votes in each constituency and it will help PTI.
5. The perception is that JI is not corrupt party.

Dis-advantages:

1. It will create un-certainity in left wingers. Though despite the left wingers are opinion makers, but as far as Pakistani public is concern, there is no influence of left wingers in masses. It may also stop PPP supporters who are willing to vote PTI next election.
2. Firm the label of right wing party, PTI.
3. PTI has to withdraw seats in favour of JI in KPK and Karachi.

I can tell you a confirmed information.

It is a confirm source of Jamate Islami candidate.
I had a discussion with him personally.

Both PTI and Jamte Islami are in touch and interested in alliance.

there is a problem between PTI and Jamate Islami. That problem is division of candidates.

In politics all other issues can be settled except one and the main one. That main issue is division of seats.

In past PTI had only one seat and JI had many seats in different areas of Pakistan.
So when ever there was a discussion, they want their own person for ticket and now after Lahore Jalsa, Jamate Islami is agreed at 50, 50 alliance.

But now the ground reality is different.

PTi is in a position to get many seats, may be 100 NA and twice MPA.
And Jamat e Islami hardly can get 3 to 5 seats alone.

But when they sit at table , they do not accept the popularity of PTI. They want to talk on the basis of past results.

They think that they have much more voters than PTI.

So they want to get most of the seats by them and are ready to sacrifice few for PTI.

How can an alliance be made.

For example if they are ready to accept 10 seats, PTi will be happy to make alliance with them.

But brothers,

I know through some source that they want at least 50- 50 alliance.

It is not suitable for PTI in any way.

They are saying that in Past where Jamate Islami had more votes than PTI, their representative will get the ticket and PTI will support them. And where PTI had more votes, PTI will be awarded ticket and Jamate islami will support PTI.

If PTI follows this formula, then only Imran Khan and some new heavy weights will be our representatives and all other seats of Pakistan will go to Jamate Islami.

This is not possible for PTI.

PTI is now much more popular and this is the fact which Jamate islami is not accepting.

They are interested in alliance on the basis of past results.

They insist, that-

formula will be like, whose candidate got more votes, in past election, will be given tickets.

AND

in Past election, if not all many Jamate islami candidates got 5000 votes in every seats they were contesting and PTI got less than 1000 vote in many seats except few.

This is the problem for making alliance.

I think, If there is fair alliance, we have 272 NA seats. Jamate islami is not able to get even 10 seats out of this 272 and PTI can get more than 100, if they will contest election alone.

This is the fact that Jamate islami is not accepting.

They want more share, and at least 50 percent.

Then how will be the alliance.

That source said that

PTI is suggesting that there should be some seat adjustment and those ten to 20 seats will be given to Jamate islami where they are dominating having clear popularity and in return, PTI can get support of Jamate Islami in all other 250 seats where PTI is clearly dominating.

But Jamate Islami is not agreed on this formula still. May be there will be some progress in future.

Lets see, what is possible

I Think PTI should not form an alliance with JI because If PTI have alliance with them and win the election. Before forming the government JI demands will be (1) Friday holiday (2) Hasba Bil & other like that. which is not in the manifesto of PTI.
But PTI must have seat adjustment. Offer them a proper number of seats so that MMA could not be formed and certainly it will be beneficial for both parties in different constituencies.

IF any alliance is made, it should ONLY be done on issues AFTER elections.

If JI wants to pitch its candidates against those of PTI then WaAllahul-khair...

PTI has to cover its own bases, make strong its own feet. We have to pitch our own candidates everywhere we can rather than wait for an alliance.

There will always be those wanting to pull your legs, but remember: we have hands also

@ fiaz pk ...good in depth info provided..

it might be the case but i think as the elections come near they will come to the realities and woud agree to some formula..atleast at the places where jamat-e-islami has no candidate they will have to support PTI..and vice versa..if their is no adjustment then the candidates can fight it out and consider a possibe aiance post elections..i think it is beneficial to have an alliance with JI cause Maulana Diesel can ruin the party by getting 10 to 12 NA seats..PTI and JI joined together can just leave Maulana Diesel to even fight for his own seat..

Pros and cons summed up nicely by saad karim, Seatadjustment without any compromising any of our policies would be the best option.

Assalam-o-alaikum
Before giving any idea about alliance with JI, I want to highlight some observation
1.  After Lahore Jalsa (the turning Point in Pakistan Politics) Manawar Hasan whole heartedly congratulation IK visiting Zaman Park.Â

2.  The Way IK respect Manawar Hasan ( I presume this,  watching them on Talk Shows and a vedio on Utube), there can be very good and fruitful relationship between them.  Yet the Punjab University Incident is really a Black spot.Â

3.  How cleverly Maulana Fazalur Rehman is building association with PML (N) and With Shareefs (Tit for Tat reply to Manawar Hasan)

4.  PML(N), JUI(F), are expected to be agreed on an alliance as Shareefs have now left the solo plight.Â

5.  As far as Seat adjusting is concerned I considered it not a big problem once IK and Manawar meet for an alliance.Â

6.  We should not forget the ground reality of Pakistan, PTI cannot sweep the election in Rural as well as Urbane areas of Baluchistan and Sindh.

7.  But if we concentrate on KPK and Punjab and make an ideal strategy we can create the government merely wining these two provinces.  And no body can deny the vote bank of JI in these provinces too.Â

8.  Having educated minds there in PTI, we can reach on an alliance in a better way.Â

I predect If

PTI + JI = We will sweep KPK and Punjab

Inshallah

Please comment on terms of alliance as manifesto of both PTI and jamaat is totally different. for example Hisba bill (infamous law passed by the MMA in kp assembly which was declared unconstitutional by SC Foreign policy Economic policy Role of Islam etc

It is a declared policy of #PTI that it will not enter into an election alliance with any other party

i think pti should form alliance as :-
PTI = 222 Contestants
JI = 30
Paktoon kwa party and others in balochstan = 5
other small parties and religious parties = 15

@nabeel78

@habiburrehman

Ji is having a strange problem. It has a good organization and silent vote bank in almost all constituencies of Pakistan, they have committed voters. But the number of their supporting voter is 5000 to 10000 in NA constituency. They are not winning the seats but they are showing their presence every where.

Now if they will contest election alone, they are expecting only few seats and these few seats are expected seats, not sure seats.

But they can play a vital role if they will support PTI, They have organization, they have 10000 votes in almost all constituencies, (ideological votes).

But How will it be possible?

They are interested in alliance on equal bases 50-50,

I think, the 50-50 alliance will be injustice with PTI.

PTI is expecting more than 100 NA seats alone and JI is expecting few seats alone.

In an alliance how can they share 50-50 formula.?

But, yes, it is a fact-
If PTI and JI are contesting elections in an alliance, and the candidate belongs to PTI,JI is supporting him, then PTI can clean sweep in Panjab and KPK and may be in Baluchistan if some Bloch will join PTI. And JUI can not get even a single seat. Even Maulana can not win his own seat.

There are two groups within JI
1..Qazi who want alliance with plmn
2..Sayed munawar hassan who want alliance with PTI

And i think if alliance is possible then JI should take initiative and PTI doesnt need to offer them as they think JI is bigger party then PTI..lol

No Alliance. JI is thoroughly discredited in KPK for Mush support. Also there Student wings Karnamy means that many in Lahore and Karachi etc hate their guts.

Allainces can be formed AFTER the elections.
