Rehmat Shah Afridi, the owner and editor of “Frontier Post” has been released on 24th May, 2008, after 9 years in Jail.

Mr.Afridi was arrested on 02, April, 1999 on the charges of possession of “Hashish” by Anti-Narcotics -Force.

Mr. Afridi was sentenced to death by hanging in 2001, But, Lahore High Court decreased the punishment to life imprisonment in June 2004.

PFO (press freedom organization) was of the view that the police investigations were irregular, manipulated, and based on harassment.

Mr. Afridi was the first and last person until now, who got death penalty on illegal drug possession charges.

this is a good step towards democracy.
musharraf might have done this because he might be saying gthe truth in his newspaper

if you have honest police officer in the family,then every one talk about his honesty & your whole family know.same for dis honest person in family & friends.
i personally know few good families who made lots of fortune in narcotics in peshawer & with all that money,you definatly need few charity organizations around you,few politicians,ac,dc & IG,you definatly need known jurnalist in media.
MR. afridi was regular guest of one known drug lord in university town peshwar.
MR.ZARDARI was key player back in days to turn their black money into white & helping bring them out clean.i don't have 100% evidence of all this but since in the time of mushraff our country was in full control of CIA & FBI & still is.It was kind of hard for drug leader to oprate freely as they do during democracy with the help of politicians.IF MR.afridi doesn't come out fast in time of AZ ,then lot's of  other cold files can be opened.
If the most honest person like AZ really stand behind honest & brave people,then we all know in judicial crisis who he really should be standing behind.

This was happened in Nawaz era .and saif ur rehaman was the main guy who did this .NAwaz shareef used ehtisab commission for his own perpose .people have forgot the evil face of nawaz shareef

how many narcotic men have been arrested, trialed and executed by hanging or other wise???

how many?

is there no narcotic man in pakistan?

so, where is the progress?

have you forgotten Rtd. Gen. Fazal Haque???

fazal haque continied his business for decades??

what was the rule of his freedom??

go and find out that how many individuals have become billionair in just 10 short years during 1999-2008??? because of honesty???

how babar ghori developed two ships to dozens within short five years??? with honesty???

My dear! do not pick individuals. if, you are honest, then condemn all in one sentence.

if, you oppose because of dishonesty then oppose all.

you know? previous auditor genral, a friend of musharraf, now has petrol pumps, lands, properties of millions of dollars in usa. have you ever pointed out this, why?

go and find out, and its very easy, that how many individuals have bought hotels, big restaurants, wine houses in arab kingdoms, just within a short period of ten years.

please do not pick individuals. punish all if, you respect honesty.

the current set up of whole society is based on corruption and fraud.

how many individuals, who participated in movement of pakistan, have died in silence under poverty and beggary. but, those, who had no contribution in the movement of pakistan, have become billionaires.???

what is the criterion in pakistan???

you know? what our "great english speaking bureaucrats" say???

they say: "make money fast, leave country and enjoy life".

this is the law of pakistan. i am sorry but facts can not be denied.
