how can IK go from door to door himself in the whole country? He is already too busy than anyone else in politics. He needs to look after his health. In my opinion only solution is to find more hardworking and effective people specially at the top level and organise the party from province, district, UC and even mohallah level and find a way to penetrate into media. That is it. And it is not difficult. After these election IK or someone at top must have noticed and observed who were more committed and hardworking workers, give thme responsibility and deadlines and monitor the progress.

What Che Guevera said can be weighed, it was Bhutto's train journey which brought revolution and now Imran, The Pied Piper's, PAIDAL MARCH from Karachi to Khyber can bring revolution. Sitting at home, interviews on TV shows, Mustafa Khar, Jazi Khan and the likes and visits to London will lead to DOOM.

Lemmings needs a Leader,

For a change, this makes a good reading

Che Guevera,
There is no denying in this fact that Bhutto's charisma and popularity combined with socialist slogan in 1970 boosted PPP credentials. Malik Mairaj Khalid was a sitting MPA of convention Muslim League when he joined PPP in 1967. Similarly Mustafa Khar and Mustafa Jitois although were not big bigs but had huge biradari behind them because they were established landlords. Mubashir Hassan, Mairaj Mohammad Khan provided leftist touch, Maulana Kausar Niazi of Punjab provided some religious socialism and feudals of Sindh gave Bhutto further leverage. It was a mixture of feudals, leftists, existing MPAs of Convention Muslim league, plus Bhuttos own charisma. 1970 was not all about middle class people getting elected. Had Imran Khan joined Nawaz Sharif in 1997 on PML N ticket, results would have been different today. Bhutto joined Ayub Khan in 1958, Bhutto used Ayub Khan for his own popularity and when he was given a chance he resigned over Tashkent despute for his own personal gain in 1966. Had Imran Khan joined PML N in 1997, I am 100% sure Nawaz would have made him senior Federal Minister and from that base he could have done what Bhutto did in 1966. For example When Bhutto left Convention Muslim League in 1966 he also convinced some existing MPAs to join his new party. Similarly Imran Khan could have parted ways with Nawaz in 1999 (in 1999 Nawaz'z popularity was below 25% cuz of poor governance) that was a time when he should have made PTI and i am sure atleast some disgruntled MNA's or MPAs would have joined him at that time. PTIs roots are not strong, we are simply lacking good candidates. Yes 7/8 good candidates of PMLQ and PML N joined in 2009 but in order to establish as a growing party we need to induct more electables. Ideology alone is not sufficient to win elections in Pakistan. Biradari system is very strong here. Opportunity will arrive because PML Q is disintegrating. Open alliance with PML Q will backfire so its better to stay silent and wait for some candidates to come on PTI platform from PML Q, N or PPP, During next general elections some of them will not get party tickets from PML N, Q and PPP ..those people will automatically come to PTI so yes opportunity would be there. Some behind the door seat adjustment combined with Imran's rigorous election campaign should atleast win PTI 10 NA seats plus 2 reserved women seats with 12 seats in Parliament we would be popular and that will be the beginning of sorry start of PTI in 1996.

Hi sufghan well its nice and pleasure to see that you know some political history but let me remind you people who come through backdoor or back channel or those who betray their roots, wont stay longer. PTI is not like other traditional political parties playing dirty politics, just slogans and practically did nothing in 62years. Pakistan is way behind because of corrupt feudals, illiterate landlords and swindler plundrers who just wasted our national resources. Let me tell you all our feudals & landlords when get in power they press poor people but they bend down on their knees infront of their father United States.//

Tell me anyone who came in power purely with his own efforts and chrismatic personality??? Name anyone........i am sure no one in our history so lets no do not talk about those buggers who did nothing for our country and that is one of the reason we are striving and struggling for genuine change. //

The main reason of PTI failure is we still depend upon old and failed people who could not deliver over years. We need to ensure change inside the party and we need to put competent people with political essence on top positions. Also we need to do some filteration and get the party free of corrupt and bad image people. We should also promote young agressive, energetic, committed and dedicated people because they will be the real and ultimate future of Pakistan.

Watch your thoughts; They become words.
Watch your words; They become actions.
Watch your actions; They become habits.
Watch your habits; They become character.
Watch your character; It becomes your destiny.

Hi Awais Anjum,

I agree with your stance that PTI needs serious change within its grass roots to top level and I have been saying this for ages now becuase we are surrounded by non electable people at top leadership and that is one reason we have not delivered anything for 14 years just 1 NA seat that isnt sufficient.
But we also need political heavyweights of ex PML-Q, PML N or PPP because in Pakistan its not easy to build vote bank and electable candidates with previous vote bank wil have better chance of being elected. No politican in pakistan is clean ofcourse everyone has past rather dubious past but under Imran khan these people will not do any corruption. We must trust IK thats all. Even if someone had dubious past he can redeem himself in PTI under IK. Youth is important but an overrated factor. We cant trust youth all the way. How many of them are registered with electoral rolls? how many of them actually will go to polling stations to vote on election day? Youth is important we must focus on them but we must not depend on them.
Finally in Pakistan its virtually impossible to come to power on your own. Bhutto served under Ayub Khan and got popularity. Zia ul Haq was a baby sitter of Nawaz Sharif. Chaudhrys flourished under Musharraf. Junejo (probably the best Prime Minister of Pakistan) flourished under Zia ul Haq too. But in case if Junejo he was not puppet unlike others he defied Zia ul Haq in all matters e.g geneva accords, Ojhri camp disaster and he also snatched big cars from Generals and provided them Suzukis. Nawaz sharif under Zia hijacked PML and story goes on. There are some good politcans around with clean background, its up to IK to formulate his strategy. He has limited resources and task is big mate. Time is gona run out soon next election is do or die for PTI.

I would like to add another point here as some people has raised objection of not every one has the money to run for election. I would say the party should raise money for the right candidate. This will motivate each n every one of us as anybody can represent PTI at national level. We need true leaders not rich n famous leaders

@Sufghan:

"Had Imran Khan joined Nawaz Sharif in 1997 on PML N ticket, results would have been different today. Bhutto joined Ayub Khan in 1958, Bhutto used Ayub Khan for his own popularity and when he was given a chance he resigned over Tashkent despute for his own personal gain in 1966."

This is exactly why Imran is much superior to Bhutto. Imran in his approach towards politics is more like Jinnah rather than Bhutto. So Bhutto served Ayub, then left him( for personal reasons rather than on principles) and then adopted socialism in Punjab ( joined the waderas in Sindh and could not gather any support in NWFP and Baluchistan), even then he could not win simple majority in united Pakistan and then refused to sit in opposition. He was a true Machiavelli who would use any tactics to win and that is why he backed out on many of his basic slogans after winning, created FSF and so on and so forth.

My humble opinion about Bhutto is that he committed bigger blunders than his achievements. If he had died a natural death he would never be that popular.

Winning the election at ANY cost is not and should not be PTI's goal but winning while maintaining your integrity is the goal. We are lucky to have a vibrant media but we have to make sure that we chalk out an effective strategy and mobilize the party at grass roots. Again we are not in a perfect world and we may have some people in our ranks who may be old faces but if our top leadership has integrity lower ranks will automatically get in line.

Lastly we have to pose ourselves as a bigger threat to existing parties in order to make our mark and become a choice for the undecided potential candidates. And you rightly said that this is only possible through aggressive campaigning.....hopefully we do it sooner that later....
