There are people who thinks exactly as my friend Sufghan thinks. This argument is long in the air.

My argument is that political movements are run by middle class. If working class also join it, the movement become a revolution. The lawyers' movement in the words of Ayesha Siddiqua was basically middle class movement which was popular in cities. She is very much right.

Similarly recent green movement Iran enjoyed support only in Iran cities, especially among university students. You can see that it as indeed shaken the current regime. Now it is an open secret, if the current regime would not tolerate the conflicting views, Iran's revolution would become a history.

Same happen in Philippines.

Now look at the middle class in Pakistan. There is a significant digital penetration in the middle class of Pakistan. 2 or 3 minutes videos on youtube is not a big deal any more even for an average internet connection. Don't underestimate this 1%, although I think it is higher than that. Since last three hundreds years, change or movement for change always begin from middle class regardless of their proportion. 1977 movement against Bhutto regime is another example.

@Sufghan, first of all I think you need to calm down, because everyone is trying to help here.

No one here is denying the importance of rural areas and if you look at my reply I explicitly stated that internet is of no use for rural areas.

However, for urban areas and to win support of the overseas Pakistanis it may be most effective medium available.

PTI enjoys alot of support from overseas Pakistanis, however up till now we have not been able to fully utilize their support (if you any doubts just look at the number of paid members). We all agree that in order to function as an organization PTI needs funds and overseas Pakistanis could play a pivotal role in fund generation. As an overseas Pakistani I can assure that internet, Facebook and twitter are the MOST effective medium to connect with the overseas Pakistanis.

I also believe that you need to change your attitude. You are under the assumption that only your point of view is correct and and everyone else here is naive and foolish. If everyone adapts this kind of attitude, no debate would remain constructive. I apologize in advance if mind this.

Additionally, having internet presence doesn't mean that Khan Sb would be glued to the computer 24x7 and he would not be able to campaign for himself. Even if his page is updated on weekly or bi-weekly basis that would be more than enough.

for the record, i have just upgraded to an i phone

I.T is the way forwards, no doubt about it.

Do we need to get to the ordinary man who does not have IT access... the anwers is YES.

should we dump I.T on the way ? the answer is NO.

So lets organise some public meetings... lets gather people... lets discuss common issues of water electricity education housing health corruption etc.... lets get together and make it happen

i know about musharaf

actually he is using facebook because he feel awesome when he sees 1 lack people in his profile as his fans,, and most of us here should know what sort of people are those who loves musharaf . they are moderates who know nothing about real pakistan boys and girls who have no boundaries when they try to catch up western world...those youngsters who are actually impressed with musharaf,s moderate thinking are fans of him and these youngsters to me are the burden on pakistan instead of bring help , they just do not have any idea what is pakistan..

so musharaf feels amazing when he sees 1 lack youth supporting him who are mostly from karachi ,as in karachi just because of language similarity he has some support as well , remember mahajir and urdu speaking bull shit helping him here ,,

by the way m too urdu speaking and i m shit of listing musharaf,s praises from elder member of my family who all of them loves musharaf but when i look at there status i come to know why ..all of them are siting in there big homes with childrens studying in city schools and beacon houses. now that is a huge proof of that what sort of people likes musharaf they are selfish , free from all the problems and the youth who just do not know about real pakistan for them musharaf was some thing..

in the end just prey for me that i some how able to bare ridiculous musharaf,s praises becoz sooner i think the volcano will burst and i ll shut all of them..

some one you just cant !!!
