The most honourable Mr. Justice Khalilur Rehman Ramday has donated his salary to Al Maizan Foundation a private concern established for the collective welfare of in-service and retired judges and judicial staff. Mr. Justice Ramday after serving long most honourably, did not wish to accept an ad-hoc appointment but gave preference to the wishes of My Lordship Mr.   Justice Iftihar Mohammad Choudhary over his own displeasure on sitting as an adhoc appointee. The discipline, unity and loyalty to the cause is the one which has once again awarded a star on all ranks of judged and advocate. To my knowledge Zulfiqar Bhutto was the first who announced he would take only Rs. 1/- as a token salary. Then we saw many. The last was

perhaps Shaukat Aziz our imported PM.All such people in fact never needed any fixed government salaries as their other incomes always are so high enabling them all live as kings like as Shaukat Aziz after “retirement” travels in special chartered flights, Musharraf’s life is in more comfort than as President. Justice Ramday’s donating his retired-life-salary is a unique thing.I have heard or perhaps read somewhere that a few people in our beloved country are spending their retirement pension on practical social work in silence.Mr. Justice Ramday’s gesture is very very kind but I wonder as to   why for this noble donation he selected Al Maizan which for the welfare selects maneuvered marks daughter of PCO chief justice only leaving other top students aside.Does such an organization, may it be a welfare one, deserves one’s hard earned pure Hilal? My bhutha given Zakat to MQM to me is not my Zakat and I re-pay again with my on hand to my own choice.
