PTI UK, Does anyone care to publish the accounts of this event. How much funds were raised and what were the expenditures? Who got paid out of this event? Etc Or its like PPP, PML(N), MQM, PML(Q) etc where the word "transparency" is just another political jargon & members and public are made irrelevant through statements like “mind your own business”!

As PTI wants people to donate, it has to put a mechanism to satisfy the donnors. It will provide a impetus to this compaign. I know the majority has no issues with IK'S personal integrity and track record but here many aother individulas are involved who need to show the transparency.
I join the above two members in this demand.

Dear Friends,
I am Asim Khan, from PTI UK Core Team.

The accounts, summary and everything gets sent off to PTI, Finance Secretary, Sardar Azhar Khan on monthly basis.
All the processes are in place to make sure all the mechanism are in place for transparency and accountability.

Also PTI UK accounts will be audited externally once a year as well.

PTI UK has raised money for iniatives like Sasta Tandoor, Balochistan Earthquake Relief and from the first ever political fund raiser that took place on 5th December in Manchester.

I can assure you my friends that all is being done to address questions around transparency and accountability. The team is dedicated towards change and progression and integrity.

Also would like to point out that the people working on the team are neither after roles or the money generated from these iniatives. We all believe that in order to bring a change we will have to do all we can do to support Pakistan by opening up offices in all cities, by raising awareness at a global level and by creating lobbies in the West to make sure that they know what is happening in Pakistan.

Questions are always good. We must ask questions but we must validate them as well. Gone are the old days when people will collect money from people and then there were no mechanisms in place either to show or support the process of accountability.

We take these things very seriously. Hence the reasons, PTI UK has an account which complies with all the rules and regulations of UK, with data protection acts and confidentiality.

The response has been great in past 7 months. The number of people that have come to help and support PTI are from all walks of life. We have mathematicians, educationalist, bankers, businessmen, writers, anthrapologists, space scientists, agriculralists, economists and those people who represent the core, the ordinary citizens of Pakistan in abroad.

Also would like to highlight the fact, that PTI UK has taken a lead on lots of iniatives. In fact the first, PTI as an organisation will have its " Code of Conduct" to make sure that people who hold PTI office go thorugh some validation and screening procedures. They follow and adhere to rules and regulations and compliance attached within that document.

So there is a lot of effort, endeavour, and urgency placed for exactly the same reasons which friends here on the forum have raised.

Inshallah, do not worry or despair. The change will come. No longer will we remain in the shadows and in silence. This change in Pakistan is happening and PTI UK will play its part to the fullest.

I thought it was necessary to write bit more to elaborate and also to explain the procedures to make sure we are all on the same page.

However, if anyone has any further concerns, issues, then by all means ask...we are always open to suggestions..

Thanks for your time,
Asim Khan

Can anyone from PTI UK explains me the cause of delay in acknowledging the receipt of two cheques from me, one was for my membership and another for Earthquake Fund? I posted these cheques on 4th November, but for about three weeks they do not appear to have been presented to bank. However, both the cheque had been cleared by my bank on 25th November, but I have still not received any confirmation about my membership. I only hope that these cheques have gone to PTI A/c. If this is the case then someone has to explain me the cause of this delay. I had even sent emails in this regard, one to PTI UK and other via embedded email facility in this site, but nobody bothered to reply, and now I am demanding the explanation from however is responsible..

Dear Saleem Bajwa

Can you please confirm if you sent a completed membership form with your 2 cheques that you sent through the post?
I am the one who deals with the membership and cheques / accounts and I receive some cheques with no email addresses / return addresses or any other information so these are then posted into the official PTI account but cannot be matched to individuals, hence an acknowledgement cannot be sent. Can you please send an email to members@ptiuk.org with the details.
Thank you

PTI will publish the details on the monies raised from the PTI dinner. Not sure why anyone thinks they wont, as this was the first of this type of event and everyone in the UK team worked extremely hard and long hours to deliver a very successful event. This information will be shared with everyone and there is no point in keeping it a secret, however people's payments can be delayed (post dated cheques) / take time to be processed etc. and unless all the funds have been received, incorrect information will not be provided. Patience is a great trait which we should all actively encourage for robust results..

Dear Sobia Zia, Thanks for your early response to my query. I am greatly relieved to learn that my cheques did reach to the right hands. I will email you with my details on members@ptiuk.org to resolve this pending issue. However, in the meantime, I do confirm that I had posted the cheques along with a completed Membership Form. By the way, I had also sent an email in this regard to apprise you in advance. I thank you once again for your prompt action, which has convinced me that PTI has teams of dedicated people working for it. With best regards Saleem Bajwa

Dear Saleem

Please forward the email to me and I will check at once and your email is important as this is used as the unique identifier. I apologise for the delay and inconvenience and will be able to explain the reasons once I have received this information from you.

The official UKPTI account has been opened therefore any cheques / monies designated for this account can only be credited into this account , the details are :
Account Name : Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)
Account No : 00191424
Sort Code : 30-92-90
Bank : LloydsTsb

The statement of this account is forwarded to the Finance Secretary PTI (Global) , Sardar Azhar Khan on a monthly basis. Any funds drawn have to be explained to the Finance Secretary therefore no monies can be taken out and all funds (based on the rules) are transferred to Pakistan PTI, to fund the campaigning etc.

As I mentioned we have been sent cheques for the charity (Sasta Tandoor), the earth quake appeal etc. with no other information and these have been credited to the PTI account and submitted onwards to the designated cause.

Please also note that the official PTI UK account was only opened in July 08, since Rabia Zia the UK Coordinator put in a structure and transparent processes with the team of people (please see the www.ptiuk.org site ) as this shows all the representatives and teams working with everyone’s help.
We will provide updated account information on a monthly basis etc. however before being able to do this we have been busy with setting up the processes in the first instance which has been time consuming.

Please email any other questions to members@ptiuk.org
Thank you

Indeed patience is a great virtue and many PTI members showed great patience waiting for a response from UK PTI CORE TEAM regarding PJ Mir being the host of fund raising dinner. There were about 25 responses to the news-item and people asked questions but none were answered by the PTI UK....so profess what you practice..!!

PTI Uk has to become better in communication.
I read about PTI UK getting a co-coordinator, but i know that there were few other decisisions taken too.
Like having an election in march/april .
PTI UK chooses often togo silent on issues which leads to misunderstandings.

Dear Sobia As per your advise, I sent you repeated emails on members@ptiuk.org and also at admin@ptiuk.org, with my full details, but there has been no response whatsoever. I am sorry to say that this matter is becoming a cause of some concern for me. I waited for two months just to access the situation, but would not like to Strach it any further. If you have not received my emails then, please let me know, so that I can post you my details. Finally, I would like to suggest that whoso opens the post, should strait away record the required details on the Membership Applications to avoid any confusion. With best regards M Saleem

FOR THE ATTENTION OF PTI UK MEMBERS

The above open corresponded between me and PTI UK, might have given some wrong impression to some member about PTI UK s. I, therefore, would like to clarify that the problem I faced was purely due to some technical reason. Otherwise, I found PTI affairs are in the hands of efficient and conscientious people.

I am posting here a copy of my last email to PTI coordinator to show my absolute contentment with PTI UK :

Dear Rabia

Aslaam-o-Alikum, Thank you for early response to my request. I am pleased to say that the matter is now resolved, and I have received my membership number. As a matter of fact, an email was sent to me on 15th November informing of my membership, but somehow it found its way to spam.

I regret that I caused some unnecessary commotion, but Sobia diligently and efficiently dealt with the issue, and sent me another copy of the lost email.
I commend her for showing an attitude which fully conforms with the image of PTI.

I am posting a cheque equalling $120 as donation to PTI for full year, this also shows my full faith in the integrity of PTI,.

With best regards
