Allocation of Permanent Election Symbol for PTI : I just received the news that our candidate for NA-55 got “Telephone” as election symbol. In gilgit we got “Balance” and in Swat/Manshera we got “Foot Ball”. It is matter a serious concern that still we haven’t got permanent election symbol like other major parties have. Just imagine shaheed Bhutto party a very little party has got a permanent allocation of “Mukka”. As every body know that election symbol reflects the ideology of any party. Every big party has their own election symbol so that their voter does not confuse on the day of election or they already know that in which symbol they have to cast their vote. I really do not understand that why our party CEC are not trying to obtain a permanent election symbol. Bi-election is best time for the allocation of election symbol so that most of the people would know which symbol we have to cast for PTI. I think whichever election symbol is allocated we have to stick on it. Other suggestion that after getting election symbol from election commission we should Permanently display election symbol on our web site. In my opinion the most appropriate symbols are (as I have already email before: 1) BALNACE (Symbol of Judiciary and Justice) 2) EAGLE (Symbol of Strength & Power) 3) MASHAL (Symbol of Spirit)

In principle we have no option but to agree with your point of view. And I think party will seriously consider it.

I will try to explain it in a historical perspective. You know PTI got election symbol "Chiragh" in 1997 and "Bat" in 2002. We did not fought elections in 2008. I presmue if we fought these elections surely it would had been replaced by some other symbol.

Incidently we have to participate in the bye elections, we could not adopt a uniform election symbol and every candidate opted for his own concern. As per my information iRawalpindi team had a detailed deliberation on the issue but finally agreed upon "telephone" because local people are very much versed with this symbol as Mr. Ijaz Khan Jazi contested his previous election with the same where he got 13000 votes.

These are interim adjustments and no doubt we should have to decide sooner than later for a uniformed election symbol for local bodies/general elections.

God help those, who help themselves.

Some of PTI friends don’t like critics and every question becomes a word of frustration for them. They ONLY like to fly with Harron Rashid’s columns of admiration of IK’s qualities. But the reality is that election symbol is not an ONLY one issue to address for the PTI, hundreds of others. If we want to prove PTI as a party.

But who got the priority list: looks like seniors of the party have hidden priorities!!!!

@matharq and wbuttar: Nice and valid points but i will not buy this that all of a sudden we founfd ourselevs in the middle of By elections and had no time to chhose a party symbol. To me it reflects the apolitical attitude of the CEC. They do not think that it is important at this time which is toally wrong and reflects how far they are from a grass root political thinking. All of you who have participated in election campaigns know very well how political symbols are used( in jalsas, banners, statements). Moreover I must say we as anation love symbols.( you must have heard PML N starting of campaigns with actual lions). We need to understand all this before we start our elecion campaigns.
