Dear Khan Sahab,

Assalamoalaikum,

First of all many many congratulations on yet another achievement in the social arena in the shape of SKMH diagnostic center in Karachi. My family was there and I got to know that it is mashallah a state of the art institution and hopefully will go a long way in serving the citizens of Pakistan. I also think considering the opposition you face in Karachi, this project should raise quite a few eye brows.

Having said that, we should also not forget the recent twin blasts in Karachi. Khan sahab, time is running out, the current leadership is hopeless as you know; they are least concerned with whatever issues this country faces and though I am a very optimistic person, I feel, that if these people continue for even another year, we might God forbid see yet another East Pakistan like situation. As you already know I am a die hard fan of yours and not only do I respect you but you are a great source of inspiration for me and many other youngsters. I have noticed in the words of different columnists and in the speech of various anchorpersons that everyone respects you and considers you the voice of sanity. There is probably no one who doubts your honesty and sincerity but across the board people are disappointed with PTI's evolution as a political party. It is a cliche nowadays that IK is not a politician hence he should just stick to social work. I do not believe that but I do believe that we lack the political minds which maybe people like Bhutto had. I do believe that we miss myriad opportunities and initiatives which could make us more evident in the eyes of the people. For example I would suggest that you should announce a peace march in Karachi to protest against this barbaric violence. I think this is an opportunity where we should convene ALL the parties, across the board to join hands and attend this peace march which should carry no flags of any political parties rather just a black flag, a white one and Pakistan's flag. This will give us the type of exposure we are looking for. Imagine how the Karachiites will feel when Imran Khan leads a peace march in their city. Khan Sahab I am not saying this because I am from Karachi, rather I am telling you about the sentiments of the people over there. Consider it misfortune but majority of Karachi today supports MQM (mafia gang) and they have become the sole representatives of our Urdu speaking community. When they see you opposing them they feel that you are anti urdu speaking although I know this is not true but you know our emotional and at times senseless public. They also feel that there is a huge disconnect between you and Karachi and you are least concerned about the events taking place here. I remember talking to you over the phone as well trying to convince you to visit Karachi after the ashura blast. If you remember you said that the whole country is burning it is not just something specific to Karachi. While I agree with you that the whole country is burning I feel that Karachi is by far the most important city in Pakistan. It is considered to be the heart of Pakistan and you know very well that if the heart stops functioning the person dies. It is for this specific reason I always lay emphasis on the events unfolding in Karachi and why I feel that you should be more active here. Also, as you keep saying and it is also something we strongly believe that we are a revolutionary party and all revolutions are led by the middle class, the hub of which is Karachi and so another reason why it just cannot be ignored.

On the flipside, the recent Gallup surveys suggest that your popularity has risen substantially to around 34% which is a very encouraging sign. As your fan cum supporter Haroon Rasheed keeps saying that if we just get organized and more politically shrewd we can definitely nurture the seeds which we have already sown. There is nothing more I and millions of people would love to see than you becomin the PM of Pakistan with a clean sweep victory but then we both know that it still seems a distant dream and Pakistan probably does not have that much time. I know very well that you are a man of principles and which is why I thoroughly admire you and I keep telling people, the day Imran Khan becomes a "shrewd" politician like all the others I will withdraw my support. Hence I would not ask you to become a "lota" and join hands with notorious politicians but at this moment I think what we cannot afford is confrontation with everyone. You have been in this arena for over a decade now and I am sure you understand the system very well by now. I just feel that we should try and find ways to work with each other without compromising on basic principles. Now that is a big ask but then this is where shrewdness comes in. You join hands with someone on your terms and conditions. I also understand that all politics is not just about attaining power but in fact the aim is to bring about a societal change; but Khan Sahab this country NEEDS you in power and at the helm of affairs solely because there is no one else who we feel is trustworthy. You have the leadership skills, the sincerity and the honesty required to take this country to its rightful place. I am completely aware of the argument that if you join hands with people who already have skeletons in their closets then you would be unable to revamp the system but then which is why I said that we need to find ways how reconciliation can work effectively rather than the type of reconciliation we see today. We need to jump into the mess to clean it and we need to do it now!!

Khan Sahab I know that I may not be the first person to present you with these arguments/suggestions but I felt that this is probably the only way to communicate with you and get my voice heard. I hope to hear from you.

Thank you

Pakistan Paindabad

Dear Adeel,

I thank you for a very detailed letter. Your proposals regarding Karachi are important and it is for the Sindh and Karachi leadership to pick them up if they think such an action should be taken. I have asked them to ponder your proposal/s. I will also request the Chairman to read your letter.

We always need advice on whom to talk to and if ever to go into an alliance, with which party. With our integrity and clean image, we are the only ones in the entire political arena faced with this dilemma. The advice to avoid confrontation with everybody is well taken.

Well I agree with peace march suggestion given above. In addition to Karachi we are almost non existent in other big cities of Sindh and interior sindh. I think Imran should visit Sindh on a week long tour and meet all notables ,starting from Pir Pagaro,Mumtaz Bhutto,Ghinwa Bhutto, Rasool Buksh Paleejo,Qadir Magsi. Having said this we should have a thorough analysis of the problems faced by people in interior sindh and urban sindh and Imran must talk of giving rights to Haries, ending wadera culture by implementing land, police and economic reforms.

Right now as I see it, we are on our way to becoming another 'GT Road' Party like the PML-N. Our support is mainly from the Urban areas of Peshawar to Pindi/Isb and along the GT road to Lahore. Sindh being the second largest province should be on top of our agenda. Senior PTI leadership must undertake weekly visits there. Neither PML-N, JI, Mumtaz Bhutto Group or PPP, Shaheeed Bhutto have ever dented the PPP's votebank in interior sindh. If we go into election alone in Sindh we are heading for DISASTER. You are right, we must meet with Ghanwa Bhutto, Rasool Buksh, Mumtaz Bhutto and Dr. Magsi. With joint candidates and/or adjustments we at least have a fighting chance.
Leader.

Circumstances in Sind are not right. It is ok to concentrate on Punjab for the time being. Once we start getting success in Punjab, message will start getting across to other provinces automatically.
