(Manchester 08.05.12) – PTI UK (North West) elected body organised a protest outside Pakistan Consulate in Manchester on Sunday 06th May 2012. The protest was attended by die hard PTI workers who came from all over Manchester and towns outside Manchester, namely, Bradford, Bury, Rochdale,Blackburn, Ashton, Salford, Dewsbury and Nelson.
The protest lasted for 2 hours outside Pakistan consulate where slogans were chanted against the premiership of Mr Yousuf Raza Gilani and demands were made for him to step down. Speakers from each town were given the opportunity to express their opinion who delivered the message of Pakistani community living in their towns. Key speakers on the occasion were Mr Amer Chisti (President PTI NorthWest), Shahzad Ahmed (General Secretary NorthWest), Abdul Basit (Senior Vice President North West), Asif Khan (President Yorkshire region), Sharjeel Malik (General Secretary Yorkshire), Naveed Shah (Additional General Secretary NorthWest), Jabran Soni (Manchester). Head of women wing PTI NorthWest, Mrs Gule Yasmin also delivered a key speech. The protesters also included a lot of women representation as well as youngsters and kids. A petition was also signed on the occasion which was submitted to the office of Consul General of Pakistan in Manchester and the local member of Parliament in Manchester.
