Lahore 1st April 2009:
Mr Imran Khan Chairman Tehreek e Insaf while addressing a press conference said that President Obama’s strategy on AF-PAK is the failure of Pakistan foreign policy in molding Obama’s strategy Had Pakistan’s foreign policy been proactive, the democratic administration could have been influenced into framing a policy which could lead to the solutions on the war on terror.
The current Obama strategy for Pakistan means more of the same. Performance oriented aid means more killings of our own people by our own army, as a result more destabilization of Pakistan with disastrous consequences for economy, for army, for intelligence agencies and above all for the citizens of Pakistan.
Omar sarfraz cheema central information secretary, ijaz ch vice president, admiral (rtd) javed iqbal additional secy general, ahmad awais spokesman on law and justice, mian mehmood ur rasheed president lahore , saloni bokhari president women wing Punjab, shamsa ali, talath naqvi, secretary information Lahore Ishtiaq Malik, and other leaders of the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf were also present at the press conference.
WHAT SHOULD PAKISTAN DO
- It should talk about a road map of the exit policy for NATO forces from Afghanistan until then there will be no peace in the region. Both Pakistan and US are facing a war that has no sign of ending
- Pakistan should refuse any aid that is tied to our own army killing our own people. As the aid given if far less than what it is costing Pakistan, not in terms of dollars, but in terms of lives. This war on terror as claimed by Pakistan government has cost about 60 billion dollars. So far Pakistan has got 12 billion dollars in the last 8 years for providing 120,000 soldiers for the US war on terror, while US is spending 2 billion dollars per month in Iraq for its 40,000 soldiers.
- Pakistan should immediately develop a home gown policy instead of US-dictated one. To fight militancy and radicalization the policy must be to withdraw troops from tribal areas and to win the hearts and minds of 1.5 million armed men in tribal areas, who in the past have given sacrifices for Pakistan. The current strategy of the US which is imposed on Pakistan is provoking these 1.5 million armed tribals towards Al Qaeda which is why this war will not be won.
- The strategy to deal with militant extremists should be to the Rand Corporation ( US think tank) according to which in the last 40 years only 7 % of terrorism has been eradicated through military actions as compared to 93% that has been through a combination of dialogue, policing, and intelligence.
- Government must improve governance in Pakistan. All appointments All appointments in police and bureaucracy should be on merit and not on political expediencies. Had the Governor Punjab not made the whole scale changes in police, the two devastating attacks on the Sri Lanka team and the Manawan Police Training School could have been averted.
It is time that instead of appointing personal loyalists in the Cabinet the right person for the right job should be selected.
Mr imran khan thanked the brave and politically conscious people of Lahore for making the long march a success, he also praised the role of workers and office bearers of PTI Lahore on 15th march .
Pml-N ex MNA’s son barrister mansoor sarwar khan also joined Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf.

I completely agree with Imran Khan. But the problem is that the government is not concerned about Pakistan, it is only concerned about keeping USA happy because they think if they keep usa happy they will be able to stay in power. And to stay in power is the only aim of both PPP and PML. They are not at all bothered with Pakistan or its people. And if difficult time comes both Zardari and Nawaz will run abroad (like they have done in the past). |

Dear Imran Khan Sb ,
Congratulations on your press conference ,your patriotism , honesty and loyalty was at display .
These are the defining moments , other leaders should follow your example .
In your speech you have represented the feelings of all Pakistanis .
Our hearts have been warmed . You are a man of outstanding courage .
.......... But , unfortunately , no decision maker ,US , NATO , Pakistani govts would be taking your advise . We Pakistanis find our selves in a hope less situation.
US and its various allies at different times since 80's have been killing and bombing in Afghanistan and now in Pakistan . 3 mill + have been killed ,more than 8 mill have been made refugees . And the US war continues .
Pakistan needs just as big an effort to get out of our troubles as the war itself .
May I suggest , you and the PTI consider a few steps :-
Imran Khan Sb , You and your party has to win hearts and minds of the poor 90% Pakistanis to be strong and powerfull to make a deciding difference .
So far the middle class educated youth have been won.
But they can only be usefull as workers , their numbers are less than 5% of the population , and they do not live in kachi abadis and villages. Where more than 75% of our population lives .
As a first step you should announce ,that an unemployed Pakistani has a right to work on the land to grow enough food for his family , PTI govt should pay for expences for this.
A tax on all agri lands to provide for health , education ,play grounds trade ,skill training , clean water and flush toilets to all villagers . Same should be provided to all .City folk should come up with a simmilar workable solutions .
Since most ownerships were established with govt assistance ie allotments etc, higher taxes should be collected to spend on human development .
And a policy of one standard for all Pakistanis to be adopted.
Imran Khan sb , all Pakistanis have a special kind of respect for you . But to win their hearts , you have feed their mouths first .
Imagine having promised all that and people in hundreds of millions, waiting for your leadership , you should then make :- .....................
An all out call to PUSH the US out of Pakistan and Afghanistan .
In Pakistan an emergency plan be announced, to stop all imports and become a totally self reliant nation . We need no aid or loans .
The rich 5-10% can learn from the poor 90% + on how to survive on less.
We have 30 -40 % of our fuel needs , this is enough for all our essential needs. The imported fuel is spent on imported cars driven by the tiny rich population. A Complete national waste .
Public transport should replace cars.
Pakistan can survive without cars ,but Pakistan can not survive, without self reliance .
Our lands are rich and fertile we can satisfy our food needs through organic farming ,our farmer workers already know a lot about this .( not the freeloading landlords ).
Cuba has never been short on essentials like food , medicine , schools ,play grounds etc , after the fall of USSR they had no other choice than self relliance . Some lessons can be learned . We can do it too. Our human hands should replace imported tractors and harvestors .
Get rid of 80% of cash crops ie cotton and sugar cane and 100% of tobbaco. Cultivate food crops and No mouth will go hungry again .
I beleive you need to supplement your politcally sound and patriotic stance with the real reform and agressive agenda .
People are waiting and listening , the grass roots are in the villages and kachi abadis , they are the real power .

THE POLICY OF PAKISTAN IS MADE BY TWO PROVINCES PUNJAB AND SINDH . AS A RESULT WE HAVE DIVIDED WHAT REMAINS OF PAKISATAN INTO TWO . EVEN THIS EXISTS IN MEDIA AS DEATHS OF TWO PROVINCES ARE TREATED DIFFERENTLY FROM OTHER TWO . THE MEDIA GIVES IMPRESSION THAT DEATHS IN HALF PAKISTAN ARE INFERIOR TO OTHER HALF. WHY BEACAUSE OF FOLLOWING AMERICAN LOVING POLICIES .

In 1850,s and up to 1901 , the British Fought wars with Afghanistan to grab its resources and to gain entry into Afghanistan and gain control of the Oil and Mineral resources that was vital to British Empire . That is known by political Science student as “The Great Game “ , which is now replaced by “ The New Great Game “ . In the New Great Game British is replaced by USA and other Interest group is Russia. Now Joined by Iran, and China, association of SCO. (Shangai Corporation Organization) .
Pakistan is helping USA, with Logistic and Army Support by the Protecting the Logistic Supply lines to Afghanistan through Karachi Port to Khyber Pass ( 75 % of Total Supply to Afghanistan ) and through Balauchistan Chaman to Kandhar ( 25 % ). The USA almost 100% supply is dependant on Pakistan. This is happened by Glorious Mysterious Agreements, by Gen Musharaf which are hidden from Pakistani people to this day.
In Present day to Provinces Balauchistan, NWFP and FATA included is Fighting with USA against its Interests by burning and Looting the Supply lines, and remaining two Provinces Sindh and Punjab is Protecting the Interests of USA. This Situation is similar and Analogous to Ranjeet Singh’s Era in the Past when he made agreements after taking money and weapons from British to allow their Logistic supply pass through Punjab and Sindh from Bombay and Karachi Port towards Peshawar and Allowed them to Fight the Afghanis and people of NWFP which remained part of Afghanistan till 1901. The Wars are called the First and Second Afghan Wars. Ranjeet Singh Even went to Peshawar to fight the Pathan and Afghanis and was killed in Jamrud Fort by his own Pathan, Sepoy. He had gone there on British Advice.
Now this war on Terror can be termed as the “Third Afghan war” being fought in context of “New Great game.” Although USA has failed in Iraq and Afghanistan miserably with such Policy, we are sticking to Bush Era policies. Our Government is pursuing the same policies, which caused the US Capitalist Giant to Collapse economically. As result we have lost 86 Billion Dollars worth of Business and all the Business men have run away.
History has repeated itself in making Ranjeet Singh’s Pakistan. and the Graveyard of Superpowers Afghanistan is waiting for America to run away soon. However, what about people, of NWFP and Balauchistan. They will have this Feeling of Step Brotherly Treatment, which can manifest itself in same 1971 like Situation. That will be tragedy for Pakistan. The Wise men says that leave American Influence soon , otherwise suffer the Fate which is waiting for Pakistan. FATA should be changed into Settled area otherwise, it will remain Battle ground for superpowers. The Dollars which is causing this Double policy should be avoided at all costs .

No one is calling it "war on terrorism" anymore since Bush left. I realize it is politically expedient for you to link any action against anti-National Pakistanis to Bush's policies, but it doesn't make it appropriate.
