Amsterdam: The number of Pakistani expatriates in Netherlands is around 40,000. The majority of this is concentrated in three cities of Amsterdam, Rotterdam and The Hague. After the formation of Amsterdam (AMS) team last month comprising Baber Bhatti, Haziq Zaman and Mehr Masood, an agressive membership campaign has been launched since Friday, 3rd April 2009. This is the first of its kind in any PTI foreign chapter according to our knowledge. Arranging public events and gatherings, though useful, can be a costly affair so the team decided that instead of calling people to our events we ourselves should go to them. The two basic aims of this campaign are: 1. To increase our membership base and then engage the new members in city events and activities, so they are transformed from normal to paying members. 2. To ensure wide-spread presence and recognition of PTI in Holland. This is very important as voting rights and representation in assemblies (4 seats each in PA's and 1 seat in NA) has already been proposed for expatriats. So our presence/activities and positive image will inshaAllah increase expatriate votes for PTI. The campaign started by distributing our customized Pamphlets/forms outside Taiba mosque on Friday, 3rd April. Around 100 forms were distributed and same people filled the forms on the spot. The distribution will be carried outside the other two mosques on coming fridays. In addition, PTI's posters have been pasted in Pakistani shops and forms have also been placed for easy access. After a review of the Amsterdam campaign implementation and its response, the campaign will be carried to Rotterdam and The Hague.
