On January 10th 2010, a PTI Canada Coordinators/Officials meeting was held to improve the organizational structure in Canada and to discuss PTI activities.
The meeting attended by Shabbir Chaudary, Sanaullah Chaudary, Mian Abubaqr, Masud Raja, Shahid Mahmood, Nadeem Akhtar, Mirza Zulfiqar, Khawar Chaudary, Kashif Raza, Shahiryar Asif, Ejaz, Sabir Ali
In the meeting it was suggested unanimously that a hard working, dedicated, reliable person like Mr. Shabbir Chaudry should be included in CEC of PTI. A dedicated person like him should be included in CEC as the party needs people like him to help the growth
It was decided that PTI GTA will open a new chapter under the leadership of Mr. Ejaz; who was appointed as a coordinator of Pickering Chapter. Mr. Ejaz will make the arrangements to officially open Pickering Chapter in the near future.
It was also decided that PTI Canada will host 3 events each year for Pakistani Community to Celebrate following events
· Pakistan Day – March 23 (weekend of March 23)
· Independence Day – August 14 (weekend of August 14)
· Quaid-e-Azam Day – Dec 25 (weekend of December 25)
It was suggested that a PTI Canada will invite an Official from Pakistan to attend at least one of these 3 events, if not all
During Imran Khan’s visit this summer following events will be arranged.
· Event for general public
· Event at University
· Meeting with the paying members/officials
Following suggestions were also discussed and will be discussed further in the next meeting
· A fulltime worker be hired for PTI Canada to assist Pakistani Community
· PTI Canada should have a centrally located office to assist Pakistani Community
· PTI Organizational Committee should be redefined
· Reforms should be made to improve the organizational structure of PTI Canada
· Legal arrangements should made to collect funds for Namal University
· Make committees for various tasks
Mr. Shabbir informed every one that Mr. Ahmad Jawad has been appointed as a new Member CEC and as a head of Focal Point for Organization, Structure and Strategy
All coordinators/officials expressed their gratitude in welcoming Mr. Ahmad and wished him for the best in carrying out a very important role.
