PTI goes online to woo youth

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) of cricketer turned politician Imran Khan has come up with a new idea in the election campaign for NA-55 using Internet to enlist public support. Main page of the party’s website carries a blog where party has sought suggestions from people as how to make the campaign a success.

There is a covering letter at the start, which reads, “Hello Guys, It will be a big boost for the party ever, if PTI wins in NA-55, so please start sending suggestions to make the campaign effective.” It further reads, “I would like to suggest here to admin to post a link at top of the website, mentioning the constituency and profile of the candidate so that people could be motivated to caste votes in favour of PTI. Please come up with suggestions to help PTI win.”

There are hundreds of messages for the party mostly from youngsters suggesting how to win the seat. The new trend is new to country’s politics. Pakistan Tehreek-e- Insaaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan is also in the town and leading the campaign for Ejaz Khan Jazi, party’s candidate.
