Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) central leadership condemning the use of state machinery by the Punjab government to rig the NA-55 by-polls said that the Punjab rulers played havoc with the electoral politics just for its vested interests.
The Punjab government not only used the state machinery but also allowed its workers to work under the patronization of law enforcing agencies to ensure the rigging plan. Police, workers, fake voters and lawlessness was openly witnessed in the electoral constituency of NA-55.
PTI central information secretary Omar Sarfaraz Cheema and the party backed candidate for NA-55 Ijaz Khan Jaazi in a joint press statement issued on Wednesday appealed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan to take suo moto notice of this rigging committed by the Pml-N.
They said that without the presence of the independent and autonomous election commission holding of free and fair elections are impossible. PTI had already pointed out that the administration were making its best efforts to ensure the victory of the PML-N backed candidate, they added.
Mr Cheema and Mr Jaazi condemning the role of election commission said that the representatives of the election commission played the role of a silent spectator not only before the elections but on the Election Day as well. The silence of the concerned authorities on this historic rigging means a lot, they added.
They also said the PML-N workers even subjected to torture those caught red handed the fake voters in the presence of the police, but unfortunately the administration remained silent and did nothing.
PTI is strongly believe in that the PML-N using its fluency crushed the norms of electoral process but they should remember that such ill-mannered efforts could never bear positive results as the people of the country have seen the negative tactics of the PML-N leadership, they added.
