The News ISLAMABAD: Imran Khan and Mir Khalilur Rahman Foundation (MKRF) joint venture appears to be rapidly gaining momentum, as within 10 days, Rs 400 million have been collected in cash for the flood victims.

Speaking here at a fund-raising Iftar dinner, Imran said that at the start, he was worried how and from where they should start the noble job but then jointly launched a movement to collect donations for relief and rehabilitation of the flood victims and got a wonderful response. He warned of massive devastation if those displaced by the floods, who also had lost their belongings, were not rehabilitated in a systematic manner.“There will be more poverty in case we failed to feed and rehabilitate 20 million people,” Imran continued and expressed the resolve to rehabilitate all the people who had lost their homes. Imran announced on the occasion that they would be setting out next week from Lahore with a relief goods caravan for the southern Punjab to provide relief items to the flood victims. In the next phase, they would go to Sindh and then to Balochistan to help the affected people there. Imran plans to celebrate Eidul Fitr with the flood victims in Balochistan.
