Minister of Information & Broadcasting Mr. Shibli Faraz Statement on Status of PIA Pilots | Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf

Those whose licenses were found suspect in the inquiry have all been grounded. All others are clear. All stakeholders, both domestic and international, have been informed. Actions have been initiated against those culpable both in Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). 28 such pilots whose licenses were found suspect and against whom disciplinary proceedings have been completed have been dismissed from service. Proceedings against the remaining are continuing and would be expedited, both disciplinary and criminal proceedings. All the suspect licenses were issued from 2010 to 2018 during the governments of PPP and PMLN. It is evident that they corrupted the system to do so. This govt believes in reforming the systems, institutions and to expose antique actions against such organised mafia. This would continue without fear or favour. Government has already initiated the process to reform PIA and CAA. Figures and other relevant details may be obtained from Secretary Aviation.
