PTI Womens Wing President, Mrs. Fauzia Kasuri took a trip to the Gurdwara Panja Sahib in Hasan Abdal to meet with Sikhs who had to flee their homes in Swat and Buner.
She was accompanied by Nasreen Tariq-VP Womens Wing and Nazish Khalid, Dr. Abida Raja, Col Younis, Adnan Aurangzeb and Zainab Aurangzeb of Swat.
Mrs. Kasuri was given a full tour of the Gurudwara to assess the conditions and need of the refugees there. In her brief address to the hundreds of people present, she said that they had brought a message of goodwill and support from Chairman Imran Khan, and PTI was a politcal party that stood for justice and equal rights for all its citizens , regardless of what faith they practised. She said it was tragic that they were displaced from their homes in the beautiful valley of Swat and prayed they return back, safely and soon.
In the end, Mrs. Kasuri gave a donation of Rs. 100,000 in cash and two airconditioners, on behalf of the Womens Wing, for their make shift clinic. She urged the media present, to highlight their difficulties and problems, so that more attention could turn to the plight of these minorites. Mr. Adnan Aurangzeb of the ruling family of Swat also thanked the PTI Womens Wing and Imran Khan for their interest and visit. He passionately appealed for more needed aid for the Sikhs at Gurudwara Panja Sahib.
Mrs. Kasuri also announced that another Womens Wing delegation will be back next week with water coolers, stationary and books for children, clothing for women and medicines required in their camp. |
